MyriadPro x Kufyan

So im still undergraduate and in my Typography class, we were asked to do a poster about a typeface that we find interesting & after a research I was really admired by Kufyan typeface.

Kufyan Typeface is an Arabic Typeface
Designed by IBRAHIM HAMDI (Egypt) & Zakariya Saleh(Palestine)
Programmed by Abdullah Aref (Egypt)

I admired the typeface so much, for its Kufic style. Unfortunatly I didn't find that much of information to put for my poster so I had to put Kufic font information from Wikipedia.

- if you guys have more information about (Kufyan Typeface) = the start of the idea or why did they come up with it and informations like that.. please write in the comment :)

ok, so .. what made everything so challanging for me is that my teacher asked me to try and find an english typeface that looks or feels similar to this Arabic typeface, so I was like hmmmm... fine challange accepted??

so I start researching....

& I found Myriad Pro
I found that Myriad Pro had some similarities with Kufyan, and I wanted to just bring these two together and combine them in one poster, and the result was interesting!
because Arabic and English are opposites (in writing) : Arabic is written from right to left & English from left to write, so the columns looked symmetrical.

I didn't want to experement because when you have deadlines you just want to get over things fast.. but I challanged myself and the way I joined the two typefaces turned out to an impressive experemnt that changed my perspective towards typography.

These are the first illustrations and ideas that I've done for the poster's background
I was really confused to which one I choose, so by accident I combined the three and it was really interesting to see visually so I reduced some obacity and played with their arrangments and it turned out to
Always think outside the box!
Don't be afraid to experiment and be creative always.
